Using gas-powered machinery to plow the earth where we'll build that windmill - to build that dam (although that's a whole different story) - to create those inefficient biofuels (no wonder the corporations love them so much) - to build those solar panels - and so forth and so on. And I like Mr. Thorp's idea of an "ergonomic" community - lest, god forbid, we see a rapid increase in electric-powered segway production... Maybe it will get folks to rethink about how they organize their neighborhoods. What if a neighborhood had everything that you need within walking distance?
